Do you ever feel like you have all the "right" tools, but you're still not moving the needle?

We live in a world designed to keep us distracted.
Social media notifications, text messages, billboards, commercials, and daily responsibilities are constantly screaming at us. Attention has become the biggest commodity of this modern world. If you are on a journey of personal growth or building a business, that noise is your biggest enemy.
I want to share a story about a "big mistake" I made that cost me thousands of dollars. My intention for today’s newsletter is to help you save time and save money, and show you how to build your mindset strong enough to help your whole family.
Let’s get into it.
Here’s a fact...Your tools are worthless without a growth mindset. You can have the best mentorship in the world and the most expensive programs, but if your "mindset" is broken, those tools are useless.
I tell you because early in my journey, I invested a massive amount of money into a famous real estate program that I knew nothing about.
My only drive was this... I was determined to change my life.
Many times, we take the easy way out and blame the programs when in reality, we are at fault. Our mindset is not there yet.
I had the modules, I had the books, the one-on-one mentorship that I was too shy to use — but I still struggled. Why? Because I hadn't done the internal work yet. I didn’t prepare my mindset.
Your mindset is key to your success. It’s the "why" that gives you the drive to push forward when things get hard. And they will. Without it, you lack the self-motivation to actually use the tools you paid for. If you don't feed your mind first, you won't go far, regardless of how much money you spend on programs and systems and mentorships. It starts with your mindset.
The next thing to look out for...
Don't let a lack of capital stop your determination.
When I decided to change my life around, I didn't have the money for the program I wanted. What I did have was regret for making a "dumb" investment in an expensive truck just to look cool and keep up with the Joneses. When I realized I needed to change my life, I took that truck back to the dealership and sold it for equity. Even then, the check they gave me wasn't enough to cover the cost of the training.
Here’s a word that will separate you from the crowd “DETERMINATION”
Most people would have taken that as a sign to quit and go home, using the typical excuse of "I can't afford it"
But I was determined to change. I took the check, I went to the coordinator of the event and told her exactly the amount of money I had, then I said... “What can you do for me? This is all I have.” She paused, looked at me, and said – Let me see what I can do for you, alright?
After a few minutes, she came back, and she said, “This is what I got – I can't give you everything in the program because you don’t have enough money to pay for it, but I'm going to give you the necessary pieces for you to get started, and one of the pieces is mentorship.”
That’s why I am a faithful advocate of mentorship. In my experience, I learned that mentorship is the shortcut to success.
In fact, a Chinese proverb states…
“To know the road ahead, ask those coming back.”
But don’t get confused because success isn't about having all the resources; it's about making a decision and being determined to start with what you have.
Let’s keep going...
Watch out for the "shiny object" syndrome.
The most dangerous time for your personal growth or entrepreneurial journey is a few months after you start something new because that’s when it stops being "fun."
After diving deep into real estate for months, I started to decline. I was lacking two important factors – Mindset and skills. I started to feel impatient because I wasn't making money yet. I was shy and scared to talk to people, and right when I felt like quitting, the shiny syndrome got me. A "new" idea popped up (Shiny object) that looked way easier and more fun.
Guess what I did...
I quit the Real Estate business and jumped into the new thing. This is a critical and costly mistake many people make because they want things fast and easy.
The harsh truth – There is no easy way to success.
Final piece...
Feed your mind every day or watch it starve.
Your mindset is like a lion; if you don't feed it every single day, it will grow weak and eventually die.
If you want to stay focused, you have to keep learning. You have to be the one to self-motivate because the world isn't going to do it for you. No one is coming to save you, so you have to be the one to push yourself. If you stop learning, you will slowly slide back into your old habits and be the same average YOU again.
Like I tell my kids –
“Don’t be average because average is boring”
Here’s 3 easy things to focus on in the next 6 months to keep your mindset alert and grow yourself...
Public Speaking: Learn how to communicate and connect effectively, especially if you struggle with shyness. This will open personal and professional opportunities for you.
Meditate: Meditation slows your mind. This allows you to do what most people almost never do – It allows you to “THINK”
Daily knowledge: Read a self-help book or watch an educational video on YouTube every single morning to feed your mind.
The Bottom Line
Stop waiting for the perfect time or the perfect resources to show up because they won’t. You’ve already got the engine — "YOUR MIND” — you just need to keep it fueled.
Don't let the noise of the world distract you, and for the love of God, stay away from the shiny objects because you will waste time and money. Stick to your path, keep feeding that lion, and remember:
Don’t be average, because average is boring.
My friend, you got this.
